Kraftin Kimmie Magical Krafty Krop

Nothing like a big Kraftin Kimmie challenge to get me back into kreating.  Apparently between going back to work, moving, summer being beautiful and just over all perhaps being a little lazy, there has been small amounts of crafting done and no blogging what so ever.  Time to get my butt into gear, right?!

A huge thanks to Kim and all her Krafty Girls for hosting multiple challenges from their live krop.  If only I lived in Ontario!

So to kick things off..... Here are my entries for 5 of the 6 Magial Krafty Krop Challenges.  I just couldn't get something going that I was happy with for the first challenge which was BINGO!!! I usually really like bingo challenges, but sadly I ran out of time with this one :(

Next up was Challenge #2!! Falling into Fall!!
I used the sweetly sleeping Little Boy Blue for my fall card.  He's coloured with the ShinHan TwinTouch markers from Close To My Heart.  It was my first time using them.  I coloured something else using both the ShinHan and Copic markers.  I must say they blend very nicely together. The nib end takes some getting used to, but over all I like them.  Everything except Little Boy Blue is from Close To My Heart.

Had to include a few leaves inside, just to keep the fall theme going ;)

Then there was Challenge #3!!! CHRISTMAS!

I used a silver shimmer mist for these lovely feathers.  I think it's safe to say, almost everything, myself included, had a silver mist for days!

I cut snowflakes using both the Artiste and Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridges and put the "leftover" one inside.

Followed by Challenge #4!! Pretty in PINK!! Because what is a Kraftin Kimmie event without a pink challenge ;)  I think Sophia is my favourite! I tried for a bit of a washed out look on this one... the purple version I did looks better I think, but only because I have a very grey toned purple vs a grey toned pink.... is there even such a thing?  One day I'll use that one and you'll see what I mean.  Maybe ;)

Next was Challenge #5!! HALLOWEEN!!  You would think given the time of year, this would be easy right.... WRONG!! I learned, much to my surprise, I have absolutely nothing Halloween themed in my stash! I searched forever for anything orange and found the only piece of orange paper I had.  If it wasn't for my new ShinHan TwinTouch markers from Close To My Heart, I wouldn't have even had anything orange to colour Tabitha with.  Clearly, this needs to be rectified!

Despite all the challenges coming up with the materials and a plan for this one, it's one of my favourite from this group.

How could I not silver shimmer/glimmer mist these adorable little bats!  Round 2 of a fewer number of things being covered in silver! I'm such a messy crafter!

And the inside.  It's nice to have somewhere to write on all that black cardstock!

And finally, Challenge #6!! Clean and Simple!
One sheet out of a chalkboard stack, one embossed stamp and one embossed saying, popped up the reverse side from a piece trimmed off the base.

I will be entering each of these cards in their respective Kraftin Kimmie Magical Kraft Krop Challenge.

That's all for today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Eeeek! Gotta Get My Kreating Butt in Gear!

Wow! Time really flies! Gotta get those kreative juices flowing ;)  I've been spending my time hanging out with the nekids and not getting crafty!
What/Who are the nekids.... Our rescued Xoloitzcuintli of course!  aka Mexican Hairless dogs ;)  They are the best snuggle bugs and have such personalities!  Wanna meet them?  Ok, here they are:

Abilene (Abby, or Whiz (cuz she has personality like Cheese Whiz!))

Chavela (usally just Vella)

And now for this weeks kreation!  The challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie's is Pretty in Pink, so as a jumping off point, here's Sophia coloured in Copics on her pink card!

Keeping with the pink theme, and added some butterflies (still luving the embosslit from Stampin' Up!) and a little sparkle on her shawl and glass as well as the pink sparkle ribbon and the sparkly hearts on the light pink ribbon. I luv luv luv damask patterns so I couldn't resist using a piece of damask paper on this cutie.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Kraftin' Kimmie - Challenge 222 - Pretty in Pink
Creative Knockouts #29 - Things With Wings
Simon Says - Glitter It
Totally Papercrafts Challenge #211 ~ Beautiful Borders....

Thanks for stopping by!

Cards For Jayden

I have a friend whose daughter was going in for surgery today to remove a tumor. This is the second one and is larger than the first, making her surgery more complicated this time around. In an effort to help this brave and caring 14 year old a group was started on facebook called Cards For Jayden.  The goal is to have as many people as possible send her cards full of well wishes, feel betters and inspiration towards a full and speedy recovery.

I say caring because after Jayden's first visit 2 years ago to the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton Alberta, she decided to start a fundraiser to provide gifts for the children staying in the hospital through a huge toy drive for them all! She has gone on to start her own foundation with the proceeds going to the Stollery towards purchasing gifts for the sick children who have to spend countless days and months away from their homes.

If you too would like to show this young girl some love and support please let me know in the comments below and I will be sure to forward you the address where you can send her a card!

Now, on to the good stuff.  I made two cards to send to Jayden. One from me and one from someone else ;)  I am entering the second one in a few challenges. One of them being Kraftin' Kimmie of course!!

Card #1 - Have a Jolly Good Day!

I just received the lovely Elaine from Kraftin' Kimmie last week and this is the very first time I have used her with her matching sentiment.  Adorable!

I am entering this card in the Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday Challenge.  As always..... It's ANYTHING GOES!! (At least i will be if I can get this darn post to publish properly)

I don't know how well you can see it, but I used a piece of pearlized white card stock for the base. It just adds that little something extra to the damask cutout from the Cricut Damask Decor cartridge.

The inside ;)

And a coordinating envelope. Way better than boring white wouldn't ya say!

And Card #2 - I Am Woman Hear Me Roar featuring Tabitha from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

The inside!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge 215 - Pearls!!...... And my final post for theday. Whew!

Yup, that's right! Last post of the day!  If you've joined me for this whirlwind day, thanks!  Glad ya came! I know some things still need aesthetic work, and I promise to get to that.  I just really wanted in on these Kraftin' Kimmie challenges ;)  Ok and maybe a good excuse to play with my new goodies from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

So, on to my entry for Challenge 215 - Pearls!! Hosted by Deborah over at KKS.

For this one, I went with Hannah Hearts - her dress just provided the perfect place to add some pearls! There are also some micro pearls as borders and a few stuck in the corners!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm gonna go clean up the disaster zone that was a Kreation Zone, I'm sure there's a table under there somewhere!

Krafty Bowl Challenge #4 - Something NEW!!

Phew!! Almost there!  It would only make sense that after Krafty Bowl Challenge #3 was old that Challenge #4 would be.... NEW!

Here goes, my entry for Kraftin' Kimmies Krafty Bowl Challenge #4 - Something NEW!!

Just like the last one where everything was old, everything on this one is new, including Tabitha! The die I used to create the peek a boo window is a week old hehe! Speaking of hehe... that one is from Kraftin Kimmie Sassy Sentiments!  The butterflies are an embosslits die/folder from Stampin' Up! As is the embossing folder I used.  Ok, enough of me, once again... Here's Tabitha!

And here she is on the inside. I chose to leave it blank for space to write... Maybe I'll add a couple butterflies in there too ;)

Krafty Bowl Challenge #3 - Something OLD!!!

Yay!! The fourth Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Bowl challenge I completed and my FIFTH post on the first day of blogging EVER!  Woo Hoo I'm on a roll!

The details: Krafty Bowl Challenge #3 - Something OLD!!! We were told: Get diggin' through your stash and use something on your creation that you bought a long time ago and haven't had a chance to use it yet!! Could be old paper, embellishments, dies, embossing powders etc. If it's been a long time since you used it and it's just gathering dust, put it on your card!!!

Well I did just that. The only thing not old on my card is.... Tabitha!
The frame she is in was cut with my favourite and oldest cricut cartridge - Sophisticated by Teresa Collins, the purple paper is from a pad bought at least a year ago, maybe more, same with the ribbon. Wait actually, I bought the ribbon to use in a wedding album I started making 3 years ago! The stamp is an old one from Close to my Heart that I ordered through my friend Denise (Hi!) and all the other paper is out of my scrap bin.  Yup, old stuff can be good stuff!

And now, presenting TABITHA.....

Krafty Bowl Challenge #2 - Another Six Weeks of WINTER!!

Here we go! The 3rd Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Bowl challenge I completed (and my 4th post of the day!)

So, for Krafty Bowl Challenge #2 - Another Six Weeks of WINTER!! I decided to make a little gift bag instead of a card ;) The challenge was to create something to CELEBRATE WINTER!!! Use a winter image, some snow, some ice, warm beverages etc.

A snowflake print bag with a snowflake (thank you Cricut machine) that I dug out of a stash of stuff I made but didn't end up using, and Tabitha waving her little wand with the saying "Let It Snow" seems pretty wintery to me!

Here's Tabitha!! Well the stamp version of her anyway.... Miss you NPLL!

And a couple close ups to see the sparkly bits!

Krafty Bowl Challenge #1 - It's Ma Birthday!

Yay!! 3rd post of the day!

For this Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Bowl challenge the mission was simple - create a special card, scrapbook page or altered item full of birthday wishes for someone special. I got to colouring up Margarita and added a little background work... need practice I think. Perhaps it's time to sign up for a Copic class ;) I was originally going to frame her, but it covered too much up so I went with something more simple and clean!  Really wish I was wherever Margarita is right now instead of stuck in winter, bleh!

Funny story.... When I went to add that teeny tiny little glitter glue dot in B Day, my glitter glue bottle EXPLODED!!!! I am sure I will be finding yellow glitter stuck to everything for months to come! Guess it had a slight clog as often happens with these things, at least in my little Kreation Zone and when I went to pull out the pluggy nibby end (technical term right there!) I guess I squeezed too hard and POP the bottle split! No more hello glitter for this gal...

Anyway, here's a closer shot of the mahvelous Margarita :)

Krafty Bowl Challenge #5 - Show Us The LOVE!

Ok, here goes, second post of the day. Number 2 out of 50! Mwahahahaaaa. Ok, not 50 exactly :)

I know, I know, these aren't in order. I decided to post them in the order I completed them so here goes, my entry for the Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Bowl Challenge #5 - Show Us The Love! The challenge was to create something with lots of LOVE!!!

This is only the second time I've attempted to colour "correctly" with my Copics but here is Hannah Hearts all purpled up!

First Post! (Exciting Title Right?!)

I am finally getting my butt in gear and starting this darn blog! It's my first time so please have patience with me while I figure out the ropes of blogland :)  I'm sure there will be changes in the first little while.

So why start this blog?? Well, I keep looking at all these scrapbook, cardmaking, stamping sites hosting numerous challenges and I always think to myself, "Gee, I should participate in some of those". So here goes!

This last weekend with Super Bowl Sunday, the wonderful Kraftin' Kimmie decided to be wayyyyyyy cooler than any Super Bowl (possibly not cuter than Puppy Bowl tho, sorry Kimmie) and hosted Krafty Bowl!  I was super excited to participate in the 5 separate challenges, but was waiting, IMPATIENTLY, for my first ever Kraftin' Kimmie stamps to arrive.

This seems like a good time to confess.... I have luved Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps for, oh I'd say about 4 years, but it was a long distance online luv affair as the only places I ever found that sold them were online stores in the states that just wasn't worth it to buy the stamps because the shipping prices were so outrageous! Grrrrr to shipping from the states.  And grrrrr to my blonde moment of never Googling Kraftin' Kimmie until last month when I discovered through Canadian Scrapbooker that she was CANADIAN!  I immediately checked out the entire site and the blog and started following on Facebook. (Wow! Writing it out makes it sound like I'm a Kraftin' Kimmie Stalker!) I placed my first order, and recently my second.  I'm trying to narrow down what I want for a third!  Don't make the same mistake I did! Go check her out! I've never had better customer service or care from an online store

Oh! As for the stamps I ordered..... They finally arrived on Wednesday!!!! Hoping I will have enough time to finish and post all the challenges before the deadline tonight.  We'll see. Typical me.... don't just wade in gently, jump in to the deep end without looking! Hehe!
